Investing in the future of the Embroiderers' Guild Museum
In the light of the recent tragic death of the President of the Embroiderers' Guild, it has been decided to postpone the 100 Tutors project for one year. It will now take place in March 2012. Thankyou to all who have volunteered to be tutors at this event, submiussions are still most welcome for March 2012.
DOWNLOAD THE PROPOSAL FORM HERENeedlework tutors are invited to take part in a fund-raising event to raise money for the Embroiderers' Guild Museum Collection. All tutors who wish to support the Embroiderers` Guild are invited to apply to become part of a selected group of 100 tutors who will each run a one day workshop during March 2012. All proceeds from each workshop will go to the Guild. The target is to raise at least £50,000.
All the fees raised from the 100 Workshops will be donated to the Guild's Museum Collection, enabling the Guild to make the Collection more accessible to members, with exhibitions, folios, via the website and in a picture library.
- Each workshop should consist of 10 students
- Each student will pay a tuition fee of £50, all of which will go to the Guild
- Workshop bookings will be made in advance, from October 2011 onwards, through this website - www.twistedthread.com

THE BRODERERS DESIGN COMPETITIONThe Embroiderers' Guild Museum Collection contains over 11,000 textile artefacts of national importance, including, in particular, an extensive collection of British embroidery from the 16th Century through to contemporary work.
The costumes, furnishings and decorative textiles in this treasured collection have been gathered from around the world, material evidence of many eras and cultures, a unique resource for historical research, and an inspiration for today's artists and designers.

Worldwide Embroidery Design Competition 2010The competition is to create your own ORIGINAL design, which will be interpreted in hand embroidery by the experts at the Royal School of Needlework, for the Worshipful Company of Broderers' commemorative table-top Lectern Fall to celebrate the 450th anniversary of their original Royal Charter in 1561, granted by Queen Elizabeth I.
